Naveen Jain – Successful Entrepreneur and Philanthropist

Information Technology pioneer and entrepreneur Naveen Jain established Intelius. A member of Intelius’ Board of Directors, he also serves as the company’s Chief Executive Officer and President.

Intelius, which was incepted in January 2003, is a company that provides consumers with a wide array of information-based services that empower them to make proper decisions on critical matters such as personal and asset security. One of the services it offers is the award-winning IDWatch, an identity theft prevention service.

Prior to founding Intelius, Naveen Jain established InfoSpace, widely known for providing metasearch and content services. He served as its CEO until December of 2002. Even before this, Naveen Jain was no stranger to corporate giants, having worked for seven years at Microsoft Corporation as a senior executive.

Naveen was born and raised in India where he earned his engineering undergraduate degree. He later on earned his MBA at Xavier Institute of Management and left for the United States to explore the emerging technology market shortly after.

Due to his entrepreneurial successes and leadership skills, Naveen Jain has garnered many accolades. These include being nominated for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award, the Albert Einstein Technology Medal, and being named one of the “Top 20 Entrepreneurs” (Red Herring), and one of the “Six People Who Will Change the Internet” (Information Week). His company, Intelius, earned several recognitions, being named as the “Best New Company” (American Business Awards), “One of Washington’s Top Three Best Workplaces” (Puget Sound Business Journal), “Rising Star” (Deloitte & Touche’s Technology Fast 500 Program), and one of “America’s Top 500 Fastest-Growing Private Companies” (Inc. Magazine).

In spite of Naveen Jain’s astronomical rise to success, he has made every effort to give back to the community through philanthropic activities. Together with his company, the India-born entrepreneur has aided the outreach programs of organizations that focus on children, education, hunger and providing quality medical care to the uninsured. These include United Way, Children’s Hospital, HopeLink, Tree House, Boys and Girls Club, America India Foundation, Vedic Cultural Center, Seattle Art Museum, Children Rights & You, and the University of Washington.
