Pushchair Advice for New Parents
New parents are overwhelmed with the number of new things such as baby pushchairs that they suddenly need to own. From bottles to cribs to car seats, your life is now overflowing with baby related accessories and your wallet can be close to emptied from the expensive experience. Amidst all the other must haves, you may consider baby pushchairs to be more of an option.
Not only are they convenient for your child, but they are good for your baby as well. Baby pushchairs improve the quality of life for babies and parents alike, but aside from this, they also ensure your child will have a good start which is safe from the many dangers associated with transporting your baby when out and about. It is also more recommended for newborn babies to be kept laying flat for the majority of the time, on a flat, padded and even surface. This ensures that your baby will develop correctly- and of course is just the thing that all the best baby pushchairs will provide.
Having said this, there are a wide range of styles and features available in baby pushchairs, so it is best to shop around before you do buy one. As a standard rule, you should look for one that is sturdy and well built, but also functional and portable. Other features and the size of the model you choose will depend on where you live, your lifestyle and how you intend to use the pushchair.
Baby pushchairs come in all different sizes and you will need to consider how you plan to use the chair before deciding what is best for you. A large pushchair will often have lots of storage for baby’s things which means you do not have to carry another bag, which is quite convenient. However, a big boat of a pushchair may be awkward to push down the aisles of the local market- so be sure to bear this in mind. If you need to get the chair in and out of the trunk of a car, then you’ll also need to pick one that is relatively compact when folded up, and which can be lifted without a struggle.
Most chairs do fold, but some designs are much better than others. Make sure you take into account both the size of the pushchair when both expanded and folded up. If it is too big, you simply will not use it often enough and it will be a huge waste (resulting in even more baby clutter around the house!) so make sure you can justify the size.
Hand in hand with size is weight. Make sure that you can comfortably pick up the pushchair to load it in the trunk or up a flight of stairs with your baby in it. If you cannot, then it is too big to be very useful.
