We Give Bed and Breakfast in the Village of Laxton in Nottinghamshire
Laxton is a rural village in the midlands, dating from 1066.
Todays visitors can see the castle site at the outskirts of the village, and witness the best preserved motte and bailey castle in Nottinghamshire.
One can also go to the pleasant, and lovely, church that goes back to the 12th century and is still used today.
However, what makes the village really unusual is its usage of the open field farming system.
This is the only open farming system in the UK and one can meander the village on your own or go on a tour with a guide, that we can organise if you want.
There is a visitor’s cente in the village with lots more information about Laxton.
At the heart of Laxton is the Dovecote Inn where one can find great value, local food and ale, in addition to amiable locals who’ll happily tell you a tale.
The Goat House is in the centre of Laxton and dates back nearly 200 years.
Having recently been refurbished to a very high standard, we give great value bed and breakfast with a master bedroom, a twin bedroom and a family bathroom.
